A major security incident unfolded outside the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, on Wednesday after a man armed with a gun was spotted near an entry gate. Authorities quickly responded, leading to a heavy police and SWAT team presence at the scene, reported NBC News.
The attack comes just hours after former President Donald Trump authorized the release of 80,000 pages of previously classified documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Eyewitnesses described a “massive” law enforcement response as police officers, military vehicles, and fire trucks rushed to the facility. Roads leading to the CIA campus were shut down as authorities worked to contain the threat.

Journalist Andrew Leyden, reporting from the scene, posted on X: “Subject has fired multiple rounds into the air.” The CIA confirmed that threats had been made at the gate but did not immediately provide further details regarding the suspect or potential motive. Both the agency and local law enforcement have yet to respond to requests for comment.
