A wanted sex offender with convictions for robbery and serious sexual assault has links to London, police say. Jason Whiteoak, 52, who can present as a woman called Karla, was last seen in Cambridge town center on Monday, February 17, but has connections to Humberside, Sussex, the North East, and London, according to North Yorkshire Police.

Whiteoak, who lives in Selby in North Yorkshire, is wanted on recall to prison and has been urged to get in contact with the force. Last week police released a CCTV image of Whiteoak in Cambridge wearing a green jacket, black beanie hat, and beige trousers. The force also released an image of him presenting as a woman, with makeup and large hoop earrings.

Police say extensive enquiries have taken place and they now need the public’s help for further information or sightings. Whiteoak is known to use a number of aliases, including his female name.

Appealing directly to Whiteoak, Detective Chief Inspector Dave Ellis added: “I’d urge you to get in touch so we can speak to you and help resolve this matter.”
