The Chicago artist is facing serious federal charges, including conspiracy and firearm use, related to a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles.

Lil Durk has been moved to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, where he will be arraigned on charges related to an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting fellow rapper Quando Rondo.

The Chicago artist, whose real name is Durk Davontay Bank, is accused of hiring five members of his rap collective “Only the Family” (OTF) to kill the rival rapper.

Documents reveal that the suspects traveled to Los Angeles in August 2022 and opened fire on the rival’s vehicle, resulting in the tragic death of his cousin, 24-year-old Saviay’a Robinson.

Durk has been held without bond since his arrest on October 24 at a Miami airport, where he was reportedly attempting to flee the country. Authorities claim he booked three separate international flights and planned to take a private jet to Italy.

Durk faces charges of conspiracy, use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

His arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. PST, where the “All My Life” rapper is expected to request bond. However, prosecutors have petitioned for him to remain in custody, citing concerns that he poses both a flight risk and a threat to the community.

If convicted, he could face life in prison.
