Concord, NH – The United States Marshals Service (USMS), in collaboration with the District of New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force (NHJFTF) and the Belknap County Sheriff’s Office, is excited to announce the successful capture of a fugitive who had escaped from Concord Hospital – Laconia early Sunday morning.

Anthony Clark, 41, was apprehended this morning by the USMS Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and the Boston Police Department Fugitive Unit. Investigators, following tips from the NHJFTF and Belknap County Sheriff’s Office, located Clark in an apartment on Logan Way in South Boston.

Although he did not surrender immediately, he was ultimately found in a back bedroom and complied with officers during his arrest, which occurred without any further complications. Clark was awaiting trial on serious domestic violence charges, including strangulation, simple assault, stalking, and witness tampering. While in custody, he required medical attention and was taken to the hospital. An ankle monitor was placed on him but was later found discarded outside the hospital.

Authorities launched an investigation into his disappearance, suspecting he was attempting to flee to California at the time of his capture. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court – District of New Hampshire yesterday, charging Clark with fleeing to avoid prosecution.

Following his arrest, deputies from the Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force transported him to the U.S. Marshals Service District of New Hampshire. Clark is scheduled for a hearing at 12:00 pm in federal District Court before being returned to Belknap County authorities.

U.S. Marshal Bill Hart praised the outstanding teamwork that led to the rapid apprehension of this dangerous individual and expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance in the case. The USMS New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force was established in the fall of 2002 and operates from the USMS office in Concord.
