In a horrifying incident, a New Hampshire man – named Adam Montgomery – killed his 5-year-old daughter Harmony and brought her rotting body to his work every day, the prosecutors in his murder trial said.

Montgomery worked at a restaurant and left his daughter’s corpse near the food.

The 34-year-old man moved his daughter’s “slaughtered” body to various places for months, before throwing it away “like garbage”, the prosecutors said at the start of the trial, which the man skipped.

The man also stuffed the compressed body of Harmony into a tote bag – which he purchased every day to carry her to the restaurant where he was employed as a cook and dishwasher, the court was informed, as reported by New York Post.

“[The bag] caught people’s attention, because he put it in the freezer during his shifts,” prosecutor Christopher Knowles said in court.

“He took it to work often and kept it in a freezer where the company stored food and ingredients. People saw him carrying it in and out. They had no idea what was in that bag,” he said.

Man stashed dead body in various places The killer also hid his daughter’s body in a friend’s car trunk, a ceiling vent of a homeless shelter where he lived, a cooler in his mother-in-law’s apartment building, and an apartment freezer, before throwing it away somewhere unknown, prosecutors said.

Harmony disappeared in 2019, but the police did not know and only started searching for her two years later.

“He is the only one who knows Harmony’s whereabouts … and he wanted to keep her hidden forever,” Knowles said about Montgomery, who is in prison for over 30 years for weapons crimes.

“The sole person, the only person who killed Harmony, who slaughtered her body, and who threw her away like garbage,” he said.

In 2022, Montgomery denied charges of second-degree murder, lying about evidence, influencing witnesses in Harmony’s death, assault and corpse abuse.
