The London-Liverpool train had a casualty on board this afternoon, Tuesday February 6, and a passenger died. The train departed from London Euston station at 2.43pm and reached Watford, north of London, where everyone was asked to disembark. The Hertfordshire station was attended by paramedics, police and an air ambulance, witnesses told the Mirror.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Watford Junction station at 15:02hrs following reports of a casualty onboard a train. Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
He did not want to give his name, but the passenger from Liverpool said they evacuated the train due to a “medical emergency”. The person who died’s age and identity have not been revealed yet, the Liverpool Echo says.
