Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét are friendship goals.
Victoria Monét had a stellar night at the 2024 Grammys Feb. 4, taking home three awards, including Best New Artist. Her close friend Ariana Grande was over the moon for the “On My Mama” singer and shared a touching tribute on her Instagram Story.
“You are so deserving of this, my friend,” she wrote. “I have no words to express how proud and happy I am for you. You have given so much to this industry with your talent and your grace. You are in a league of your own and I am honored to be your collaborator (and one of the many you have blessed with your goodness).”
Ariana also celebrated their friendship, which goes back to their days of touring together.
“We dreamed of this moment since we first met and had those sleepovers on the bus,” she added. “It is amazing to see you reap the rewards of your hard work and generosity. Happiness is an understatement. This is your time to shine, my friend!”
Ariana, 30, and Victoria, 34, have been friends since 2011, when Victoria was still on the hit show Victorious on Nickelodeon. The two have remained close ever since, and Victoria has helped Ariana write some of her most popular songs, such as “7 rings,” “thank u, next,” and “34 + 35.”
Victoria also won two awards at the 66th Grammys for Best R&B Album and Best Engineered, Non Classical Album. She was nominated for the first time in 2020 for her collaboration with Ariana on thank u, next, which she told Billboard was: “the closest thing to writing for myself.”
