Harris County’s Judge Lina Hidalgo shared some happy news on social media Monday night. She is getting married to her longtime boyfriend of nine years!
In a tweet with a picture of her and David, the county judge said, “I’m so excited to let you all know that David and I are engaged! We have been together for nine years and he has been my rock through everything. He is the love of my life.” 💕
She opened up to KPRC 2 about her mental health struggles in November.
She had to take a break from work for nearly two months to deal with her clinical depression, and she came back in October.
She said she was only diagnosed with depression in July, after a psychiatrist had told her she had anxiety. Her depression caused her a lot of difficulties.
She sometimes felt worthless and hollow because of her depression.
She also shared that she went to several psychiatrists who advised her to go to the hospital for more support, and they recommended the Lindner Center in Ohio.
She said she thought about quitting her job as the county judge because she was at a loss on how to heal herself, as reported by Houston Public Media.
Now, having gotten treatment, Hidalgo said she is feeling joyful and is satisfied with her work.
