US President Joe Biden goes to South Carolina today to celebrate putting the state and its large number of Black voters at the start of the Democratic Party’s schedule of contests to choose its nominee for the November election.

Biden – who seems likely to face Donald Trump again in the 2024 election race — will also argue that the Republican ex-president is a danger to people of color.

The president will be the main speaker at the South Carolina Democratic Party’s dinner to celebrate the party’s first official primary next month.

He will tell why he removed the less diverse states of Iowa and New Hampshire from the beginning of the party’s nominating schedule and give a preview of how he intends to criticize Trump on his record with Black Americans, a campaign official said.

Biden Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks said that “President Biden has always believed that our party’s diversity should be reflected in our nominating process, and he’s keeping his promise to Black voters, the foundation of the Democratic Party.”

The Democratic primary in South Carolina is on February 3 and Biden is likely to win easily as he makes a smooth way to the party’s nomination.

The president has received mixed feedback from some Black voters who supported him in 2020, including dissatisfaction over his inability to pass voting rights legislation and other issues. Even though Democrats have no chance of winning the state in the November election, Biden hopes that focusing on South Carolina will boost his support among Black voters.
