The British government wants to outlaw Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamic political group accused of antisemitism.
On Monday, UK Home Secretary James Cleverly presented a draft order to parliament to ban the group under the Terrorism Act 2000.
The draft order will take effect on Friday if parliament approves it.
It will make it a crime to be a member or supporter of the group, or to show any signs of affiliation or sympathy in public.
Cleverly said in a statement on the UK government website that Hizb ut-Tahrir is an antisemitic organization that supports and incites terrorism, and that it applauded the horrific 7 October attacks.
