A doctor died after a lorry driver dragged her under his truck’s wheels in Holborn, and he has been found guilty of killing her.
Kevin Allen’s HGV hit Dr Marta Krawiec, 41, who was cycling to work in central London in August 2021.
The Old Bailey heard that she had multiple injuries when he moved from the middle lane to the left lane without indicating.
Allen, who said he did not cause death by dangerous driving, was found guilty of the crime by a jury on Friday.
The court was told that the deadly collision happened on a “bright, clear summer morning” on August 4, 2021.
The driver will get his sentence later.
The jury heard that Dr Krawiec’s death was because of a “driver error” by Allen, 69, who did not indicate.
Judge Richard Marks said it was a “hard and tragic case”.
Prosecutor Paul Casey told the court that Allen, from Forest Town, Nottinghamshire, was taking steel to a building site in the capital.
The HGV was in the middle of three lanes at a red light, at the crossroads of Southampton Row and Theobalds Road.
Dr Krawiec, who had on bright clothes and a helmet, was to the left behind the vehicle.
The court heard that Allen had not indicated and was in the lane to go straight, not left.
When the light turned green, Dr Krawiec was next to the lorry.
