Before his prison release, a father who lost his daughter in a speedboat crash on the River Thames begs her killer to tell the truth.

Graham Brown, 60, wants Jack Shepherd to explain what happened to his daughter Charlotte.

He has always doubted Shepherd’s claim that Charlotte, 24, was steering the boat when it hit something in December 2015.

Mr Brown told Sky News: “Shepherd has never been honest about what happened that night. And his version contradicts what we know and what the trial revealed.

”It’s outrageous that he took my daughter on a faulty speedboat at night, without lifejackets, on a very risky part of the River Thames and sped up to 30 knots, and then blamed her…“

Shepherd, 35, has always denied that he was accountable for Charlotte’s death and said it was her fault.

He is set to be released from prison next month after serving half of his 10-year term for Charlotte’s manslaughter and another, unrelated attack in a pub.

Mr Brown said: ”My daughter was not in control of that boat. I’m sure she expected it to just cruise, turn around, and come back.

“She had no clue what he was planning to do. She must have been scared to death.”

Mr Brown also said that he did not want to talk to Shepherd when he gets out, but wished he would tell the truth about what happened on the night Charlotte lost her life.
