A vehicle hit and killed a homeless man in northwest Houston on Friday night, the Houston Police Department said.

The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. on Silber Road under I-10.

The homeless man was sleeping under the bridge when the vehicle hit him, police said.

The driver, a 17-year-old, was drunk and attempted to run away but nearby Jack in the Box workers stopped him until police got there, HPD said.

The investigation will determine the charges.
