Ryan Manigo, 33, faces multiple murder charges after a horrific house fire and stabbing incident in Green Pond, South Carolina, that left six people dead, including his own daughter, authorities announced yesterday.
Colleton County Sheriff Guerry Hill said at a news conference that police received a 911 call on Sunday morning reporting a fire and stabbing at a residence in Green Pond, with several victims trapped inside.
When officers arrived, they found the house engulfed in flames and a teenage boy who had been stabbed outside, Hill said.
The boy, who was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, gave police the first name of the suspect. Hill said Manigo was apprehended shortly after near the scene.
“We do not have a motive at this time,” Hill said.
Two of the victims have been positively identified as Manigo’s sister-in-law and his 11-year-old daughter, according to the sheriff. The identities of the other four victims are still pending.
Manigo has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder so far, but more charges are likely, said Solicitor Duffie Stone.
