A middle school teacher in Massachusetts has decided to resign and relocate to another state after facing appalling antisemitic harassment from one of her students.
The teacher, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that she was repeatedly subjected to hateful comments and gestures from the student, who also tried to recruit other classmates to join his campaign of bigotry.
The teacher reported the incidents to the school administration, but felt that they did not take adequate measures to protect her and address the issue.
She said that she felt unsafe and unwelcome in the school environment, and that she could not continue to work under such conditions.
She expressed her disappointment and sadness at having to leave her job and her community, but said that she had no choice but to seek a fresh start elsewhere.
