Central Texas school district superintendent was among seven men arrested in an underage sex sting operation in Harris County, authorities said.

Michael Stevens, 47, was arrested Thursday on a charge of online solicitation of a minor, Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said in a social media post. Stevens is the superintendent of Itasca ISD in Hill County, south of Dallas, according to the district website. The district’s page said he has held that position since 2022.

Rosen said Stevens has been a coach, a principal and an assistant principal in various districts located in North Texas, northwest Texas and the Gulf Coast.

“Stevens has been around children his entire work life,” Rosen said on a Facebook video announcing the arrests.

In the video, Rosen said investigators from more than dozen local law enforcement agencies have been online posing as teenagers ages 13 to 15. Through social media, Stevens was speaking with an undercover officer whom he believed was a 15-year-old girl in Houston.

“He sent pictures of his private parts and asked for nude images in return,” Rosen said.

Stevens told the investigator he was at work, and some of his photos appeared to be taken in his office, Rosen said. He added that Stevens was also planning a trip to Houston to engage in sex acts.
