Kris Jenner co-hosted a lavish event where guests received a bag full of Kardashian products worth $600.

Among the attendees was L.A.’s new Mayor Karen Bass, who raised some eyebrows among her constituents. Did she take the gift?

The Mayor stayed true to her word and gave up the bag, which had items like shapewear, liquor, hot sauce, and more.

Accepting gifts is risky for politicians. You’re always under scrutiny and people are looking for any sign of scandal to bring you down. So if you take even a simple gift like, say, $3.2 million dollars in jewelry or lavish trips for years from rich donors, people might accuse you of being bribed and influenced by them. In politics, a gift is also a weapon for your enemies.

That’s why Karen Bass, L.A.’s new Mayor, chose to reject the Kardashian-themed gift bag she got at a recent party with many influential people.

Kris Jenner was a co-host of a star-studded party at a Beverly Hills mansion last month. The party was “to celebrate investor Michael Kives’ firm and the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, which brings together influential power players to discuss ‘advancing a thriving world’ in finance, tech and philanthropy” as per the LA Times.

TMZ reported on the celebs who were at the party, from singers Katy Perry and Austin Butler to tycoons like Oprah Winfrey and Jeff Bezos. But they also saw some political bigwigs leaving the party, like Bass and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

But since the guests were said to have gotten a Kardashian bag of goodies worth about $600, people and journalists had some queries.
