McCarthy, the US House Speaker, said today that he thinks a majority of House Republicans will support the debt ceiling deal he made with the White House.
He said on Fox News that the agreement was very exciting for more than 95 per cent of House Republicans and that it had pay-go rules that would stop future legislation from increasing the deficit.
