Ethel Bowens believed to be the oldest woman in Oklahoma has passed away at the age of 112yrs. She was born in Seward, Oklahoma, USA, on 26 August 1909. Her father, William Maple, was a farmer and her mother, Susie Osborne, was a homemaker.

Her upbringing was grounded in strong faith in God and that hath led her throughout her lifetime. A woman of confidence and Strength. Her family attended a Guthrie-area Baptist church. Where she went to Sunday school and later taught in Sunday school.

Bowens had six children and more than 50 grandchildren.
